About
The loudest introvert in the room
Based in the Illawarra region of New South Wales, I came to fiction writing along an unlikely route — through optical mechanics and copywriting, two crafts that share more than you’d think: precision of form, clarity of function, and the quiet satisfaction of getting a thing to work exactly as it should.
I’m a reader-turned-writer, drawn into the science of craft and convinced that the best stories hold something true about the world — even when, especially when, they’re set in other ones. Currently, my work spans middle-grade fantasy and steampunk, young-adult science fiction, and adult historical fiction: different voices, different eras, the same searching questions.
Short work has appeared in Five South Literary Journal, Cardigan Press, Poets Choice, and internationally through the anthology Revenge. I’ve also contributed sports writing to Bright Side of the Sun (Phoenix Suns, NBA). Currently: outlining several novels, recording bird sightings, and almost certainly drinking coffee.
